Blessed State's latest, the SLIPSTREAM EP, is a 4-song effort recorded this past May by Kevin Gebo at Disappearing Mountain in Easthampton MA. The band enjoyed the recording process so much that Gebo has since joined the band as their second guitar player!

These four songs continue the band's melodic punk trajectory, incorporating more harmonies and hooks wherever possible. The Exploding In Sound blog referred to it as "thoughtful and efficient, comfortable with the pathways that lead into and around the heart".

Dog Years 04:24
Sun sets in the same spot as yesterday Yet everything that brought me to here has changed It’s these small things that always keep me watching You never know when it’ll just turn out hopeless “Don’t let me down”, I keep on thinking. “Don’t let me down” Can you see the beauty in the redundant? Is it a way to keep the perspective? Or is it a way to get lost in the noise, so that 1 year ends up being 7? “Just put me down, get it down with” I promised me that I’d take all of this in stride Can you tell me if I stayed true to push on or still abide?

Waking 02:24
Every time you try and talk, there’s no sound It’s just like my favorite nightmare Feel the eyes of everyone you know burn to the core, seeking answers A high we know too well, let’s wait here til we come down (finally) I can’t say that I know how to cope But hey at least we are trying Give us time and hey, who knows where we’ll be Didn’t say I could tell the future Demand a new process when what was will not work No plans for today when waking is so hard to do every day

Never thought that I would have the chance to see all this come through It’s so inviting, deciding what we know by heart Don’t fall by the wayside And still here we are making the most of everything that we can Don’t go changing your mind this time Cause I need it Thank you for all that you’ve done God damn me, I just can’t sit still And there are those days, can’t help but feel like I’m on some borrowed time Avoid telling you this song would be the very last I wrote They call it competition, I can’t say they’re wrong But it’s never simple, we knew that all along And there’s nothing better, to share this with you It’s awe-inspiring, in all that you do

Seconds 02:01
“Why are we still in this town?” is the thing we always say Seems like every other week we second guess everything This year it’s gonna be so different, you’ll just see Wishing doesn’t make it true It’s easier to live indisposed than to change anything And just think of this place as your reluctant muse
